Whatever you do, don’t do it the normal way. Think of different ways to do things!

Kids Helping Kids

I can’t take their picture and show them to you, for the kids are in the foster system and therefore under protective rules. Yet with all their emotional needs they wanted to help other needy kids. You see in church I presented the opportunity for them to do that through the Operation Christmas Child program. You can learn all about it here at this link.

After playing a video of children from around the world receiving a shoebox filled with toys and a book about Jesus, these foster kids wanted to help too. Such a show of love from one heart to another! I presented the new trash can to be used for storing all the new toys and other goodies to fill the shoeboxes with. I asked the kids if they would like to decorate the trash can with stickers. I had several sheets of Operation Christmas Child stickers. They happily wanted to do that and did a good job I might add.

One of the kids, and pre-teen girl said she wanted to decorate pens with colored tape and flowers to put into the shoeboxes for the kids. What a giving heart! I promised every Sunday we would show another video of children receiving their Christmas shoe boxes to keep us all motivated until we are ready to pack our shoeboxes and ship them off.

Maybe in the giving of themselves to help others, these children will heal a little more in their own hearts.

“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” James 1:27

What these precious foster children don’t know is that they too will receive their own Christmas shoebox! I can’t wait to see the joy and surprise in their faces.

What Do You Believe?

Image

There are Atheists, Agnostics, and Christians. I know there are others but we will stick to these for this writing. All three have different beliefs. Though they are different, they would be willing to tell you if asked.

Have you ever asked yourself what you believe? If so, how did you come to that conclusion? Did you research and study your beliefs before you embraced them? Did you simple believe because your parents did and told you to do the same? Was there a special moment in your life that led you to your belief? Whatever your beliefs are, do they match up to how you live your life?

I realize I am asking a lot of deep questions but I have a point, I promise.

My point is this. Your life means something. Your life has purpose. But if you want direction, know what you believe.

Here is an analogy, when I sit down to write, I have a purpose. But if I have no direction I will babble on for pages and pages making no sense. Likewise, your life has a purpose but when you don’t know what you believe there is no direction. However if you do know what you believe then your life will take on a whole other level of purpose and direction!

So I pray you spend a few moments asking yourself those questions. Then I pray you spend a lot longer time finding the answers.

Focus is Great Gain

Image

thC7CRBICS

Focus is when you are without distraction.

When your full attention is all on one thing or person.

Your mind, eyes, and ears are in sync with each other.

Distraction is when you are looking at one thing, hearing another thing, and thinking of yet another thing.

Loss of focus and information is the result.

Wasted energy, nothing gained, and zero productivity.

To be focused is to be efficient.

To be distracted is to be useless.

When you are focused there is no distraction. When you are distracted there is no focus.

Which one will you be?
